Hand and Machine Goldwork Embroidery

My father has been fascinated by and studied ancient Egypt all of his life.  I made this piece for him based on the ancient Egyptian god of scribes, the one who weighs your soul to determine if you have done more good than bad.

Materials and Techniques: hand couched antique gold Japanese thread, hand embroidered antique and contemporary metal threads, needle weaving of body and armor, machine stitch background with gold metallic thread
