While Christina’s primary medium is “Fiber”, she’s considered a “Mixed Media” artist due to her versatility and fluidity of different materials and techniques she includes in her artwork.
Fiber can mean many things… fabric, thread, yarn, paper, and more. But the processes one can use with or on fiber are vast, including dyeing (chemical, natural, shibori, resist, rusting, ice/snow dyeing, etc.), painting, block printing, drawing, collage, machine stitching, hand stitching, couching, lace-making, and more. While not every piece uses the same techniques, a majority of Christina’s work includes stitch of some type within it. Her lifelong passion for stitch binds her broad depth of work with all its variety and complexity.
