The International Angel Gown project makes bereavement gowns for babies who are stillborn or pass away from wedding dresses that are donated. Very often these babies are the smallest- too tiny for traditional clothing. Being in the midst of such grief is not the time to have to find something special enough and small enough to lay your child to rest.
Having suffered the loss of my daughter Bridget at her birth, I immediately resonated with the project and wanted to help other grieving parents with the painful transition of saying goodbye to their precious little angel.
I contacted Angel Gowns by Michelle, who happens to be in my area and started working as a seamstress for the project. Michelle, a neo-natal nurse, has been coordinating with hospitals over the last 10 years, providing gowns.
Should you feel this project touch your heart and would like to share your wedding dress for this purpose, please contact me through the contact form on this website. All gowns need to be laundered/ dry cleaned prior to donation.
Due to time and storage constraints I can only accept donations of personally owned wedding dresses and can only accept one wedding dress per donor.
Other donations are welcome, but the items I need are specific my sewing machines and to the wedding dress and gowns that I ‘m currently making from it. JoAnn Fabric gift cards are always welcome! Please contact me through the contact form on this website.
Please note: While your donations are welcome and most appreciated, this is not currently a non profit organization and thus your donations are not tax deductible.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and support of Angel Gowns!
