This Great Blue Heron stands frozen in time, looking for his next meal. The hand-dyed linen background with undulating reeds conveys a misty, ethereal quality.
Materials and Techniques: Hand-dyed and painted linen; nylon chiffon; cotton, silk and synthetic yarns; light molding paste; wire; wool rug padding; felt padding; “animal eye”. Constructed using stumpwork techniques both by hand and machine.
