Original Design Hand Embroidery

I came across these incredible man-sized ferns in Kauai, Hawaii. Photographs alone couldn’t capture the textural nature of these prehistoric looking fronds.

Materials and Techniques: Artist’s original photo printed on cotton, layered with colored tulle, hand-stitched with cotton embroidery floss, and hand-dyed silk threads.
